A technical feasibility study for a Smart Pedestrian Crosswalk solution

GRANT
2014-2020.4.4.2 The part of research and development activity
AMOUNT
19 390 €
PROJECT PERIOD
04.09.2017 – 20.12.2017
PROJECT'S PURPOSE
The development unit project aims to confirm the technical feasibility and expected cost price of Bercman's Smart Pedestrian Crosswalk concept for serial production, physical prototyping and laboratory tests. Where necessary / possible, find ideas for refining the concept.

Validation of Bercman's Smart Pedestrian Crosswalk object detection and implementation of proposals

GRANT
2014-2020.4.4.2 The part of research and development activity
AMOUNT
3 920 €
PROJECT PERIOD
24.09.2018 – 15.01.2019
PROJECT'S PURPOSE
The aim of the project is to evaluate experimentally and theoretically the effectiveness of Bercman's Smart Crosswalk software and hardware object recognition algorithm and to make detailed suggestions for more accurate object identification. The project will create the basis for even more accurate identification of people and cars and brings increased road safety.

Combining a real-time sensor database to provide more accurate information about subject position, orientation, and direction

GRANT
2014-2020.4.2.3 Applied research in smart specialisation growth areas
AMOUNT
70 514 €
PROJECT PERIOD
01.04.2019 – 01.02.2020
PROJECT'S PURPOSE
The purpose of the applied research is to develop a highly accurate and advance level object recognition platform that would enable the Smart Pedestrian Crosswalk system to provide potentially life-saving situational awareness. A goal is a complex task that requires object recognition by combining a real-time database. Gathered knowledge can be applied to the development of other intelligent applications, including self-driving vehicles technology.
